1. found this song playing in the background of a stranger’s myspace circa 2007, inexplicably

2. i think i just couldn’t even believe that there was music that could really sound like this. like fly girls were something vaguely intimated on fresh prince but i’d never heard evidence of. rap on the radio didn’t sound like this; neither did the def jux shit i was on

3. i remember being so giddy about this song. about the weird grammatical stretches— “he was obviously hooking up bass i assume”—that doesn’t even make sense? also though tigra and bunny were like 17 when they released this track, so whatever, the point is how stoked i was on this track, immediately and repeatedly upon hearing it

4. he was looking so fly i thought i wasn’t awake

5. i will someday make a mix of ill-advised tracks i have put on party playlists; this belongs squarely there. 

6. upon closer inspection i have like half of this album on my itunes. there are better flows on other tracks; they’re all kinda slow and like mostly about boyfriends but i’m not mad about it
